Which brings me to The Canada Line. At just over three years old, it doesn’t have quite the history of New York’s subway system. And with just 16 stations, it’s nowhere near the size. But that’s beside the point. I’ve lived in Richmond all my life – nearly three decades – and in that time I’d go so far as to say that nothing has had a bigger impact on the city than The Canada Line. Indeed, I couldn’t imagine Richmond without it.
Whether you ride The Canada Line for an hour every day or just once in a while, one thing’s for certain: practically everyone has experienced this newest addition to the Lower Mainland’s transit network! The Canada Line whips through Richmond and Vancouver and connects to YVR International Airport, transporting over a hundred thousand people everyday to work, school, concerts, lunch dates, the airport and countless other daily activities. The Canada Line has become an essential part of people’s lives; the passengers and neighbourhoods through which she travels make up the unique characteristics that define life on The Canada Line.
